As many of you know, and others of you who are learning nearly every day, at Orcas Family Health Center (OFHC) , the ability to pay, or provide proof of insurance, is not a condition for receiving primary health care for you, your family, your guests or island visitors.
Many of the services offered by Dr. Shinstrom and his team are either free or at a reduced rate. Moreover, we’ve negotiated with Liam Davis from Happy Family Store (visit website) to supply us with medicines at discount prices, allowing our patients to save a substantial amount of money. This approach has genuinely provided hundreds of hours of care to those who, without our policy of “care for all,” would probably not have received the treatment they needed.
Orcas Family Health Center is the only 501 C (3) charitable, non-profit, rural health center on the island. Your contributions are 100% tax deductible. The ability of OFHC to continue providing 24/7 “care for all” requires the continued generosity and support of our community, our friends, our patients, our medical staff and our board of directors.
We are asking for you help, and now is as good a time as any to start planning your year-end tax deductible charitable donations. If you like what we do and the way we do it, then please take the time to make a tax deductible donation. You may want to consider what some of our other contributors are doing. They have set up affordable, monthly bank transfers so that their donation painlessly covers a 12 month period. Any amount is welcome, there is no minimum required, and you may rest assured that your contribution is confidential and that it will be used to help those who need help with their health care.
